Bare Sand Island Turtle Adventure
Day 1
1930 depart from the wharf precinct for a leisurely sail/motor to Tapa Bay checking out the stars in the northern sky and then next morning after breakfast on to Bare Sand Island. The sail may take up to 5 hours depending on the wind.
Day 2
Once you arrive stretch your legs, or if your feeling energetic, circumnavigate the island, its not far! You may see young turtle hatchlings making their way to the water or one of the magnificent sea eagles that cruise the skies. Enjoy the afternoon free of the noise and clutter of everyday life. Prepare for a spot of turtle watching in the evening.
Day 3
Depart Bare Sand Island around after breakfast and return Wharf Precinct Jetty. Approximate arrival time 4pm.
What to bring:
Due to limited space, please bring one bag per person. We recommend you bring bathers, towel, personal items, hat, sunscreen change of clothes and sturdy footwear. We supply:
Linen, pillows, plates, glasses, cutlery, esky.
A simple but ample breakfast, lunch and dinner and morning/afternoon tea is supplied.
Bynoe Seafari
Turnbull Bay is one of the major bays situated in Bynoe Harbour. Three main estuaries provide an interesting backdrop to your anchorage. View a range of birdlife such as turns, Brahmini kite, sea eagles and more, or beach comb the shores.
Day 1
1930 depart Stokes Hill Wharf for a leisurely sail/motor to Tapa Bay checking out the stars in the northern sky.
Day 2
After breakfast sail down Bynoe Harbour to Turnbull Bay. Arrive mid afternoon and choose your activity. Sit back and relax with a refreshing drink and catch the sun melt into the horizon.
Day 3
Wake up for a leisurely breakfast. Stroll along the beach or if your feeling guilty about the night before, go for a run! Sail back to Darwin arriving approx 4pm.
